when? where? who? why?
Often feeling powerless in the face of the incoming environmental disaster ? It is true that a lot still has to be done in a very short time to avoid a catastrophic biodiversity collapse. Indeed, "The 2020 global Living Planet Index shows an average 68% fall in monitored vertebrate species populations between 1970 and 2016" according to the 2020 WWF Report. The drivers of biodiversity loss can be summarized in five important points : habitat loss, invasive species, pollution, overexploitation and climate change. The good news ? It is possible to reverse the trend by acting at an individual level or taking part in citizen actions, especially concerning pollution. But in order to be even more efficient, it is better to gather collective actions in favor of the environment and tipps for biodiversity on a single platform.
This is when we got the idea of our project : designing an app that would allow one to know all the upcoming actions near its geographical position to act in favor of biodiversity. Some options are added to this main functionnality, such as discovering endangered local species and advice to protect them.
for whom?
Anyone who has a smartphone will be able to get the app. In order to obtain a good visibility we first target young people : generation Z and younger Millenials are the most comfortable ones with digital tools and apps, they are also the ones who have the most ecological awareness. Therefore, mostly young people want to act and would be ready to use this app on a regular basis as it will facilitate their passage to action (thanks to our centralized and localized information). But generation X should not be forgotten as it is ever more familiar with new means of communication and apps especially.
what? how?
Our app will run on Play Store and App Store so that it is available on
Android and iOS phones. After having created his/her profile on the app,
it would simply use the user's geographical position to identify
environmental events in the days to come and near him/her.
Demonstrations for the climate, clean walks or beach cleanings would for
instance be referenced. These events would be added by other users and
would thus make it possible to rally more people to these mainly citizen
initiatives. A button "join" allows the user to confirm he/she will
participate in the action.
We found that it would be interesting to add options to our app : in
addition to referencing the events near the user, it could also list all
the endangered local species and give advice on what to do and what not
to do in order to help their conservation.

when? where? who? why?
Do you want to take part in saving endangered species? According to the United Nations, more than 30 000 species are in danger, it's time to help them. You can become godfather or godmother of an animal to prevent it from losing its habitat.
To become godfather of animal is to link yourself to another living being, to follow it in the time, to come visit it.
for whom?
Everybody is concerned, but especially people who want to develop a strong relationship with an animal and who are financially able to make (big) donations.
what? how?
You can become godfather or godmother of an animal by making donations from 20€ to 1000€, you choose your animal between endangered species. After that, you will have news of it, and depending on the amount you have given to become godfather/godmother you have access to some privileges with the animal : if you have given 1000€ for instance, you can come visit it during two weeks or one month ; during this visit, you will create a real link with it. You will feed it, care for it. You can also buy goodies of the animal to help the keepers provide them good treatments. You can make donations or buy a goodie on a web site.
